Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, seen as a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster in Bejoy Nambiar’s latest directorial ‘Wazir’, has thanked his fans for the “love, appreciation and patronage for the success” of the drama thriller film.
‘Wazir’, which also stars Farhan Akhtar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and John Abraham, minted Rs.21.01 crore in its opening weekend. “Thank you world for your expression of love appreciation and patronage for the success of ‘Wazir’,” Amitabh posted on Twitter on Tuesday. “The smile of achievement is the glory of those that made ‘Wazir’ so special: The audience. Thank you,” he added. The ‘Piku’ actor also shared that the footfall on Monday for ‘Wazir’ is “greater than the first day”.

The story of ‘Wazir’ revolves around two unusual friends – a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster and a grief stricken ATS officer (Farhan), who are brought together by a peculiar twist of fate as part of a wider conspiracy that has cast a dark shadow over their lives.

Sunny Deol back to direction with `Ghayal Returns`

Mumbai: Actor Sunny Deol will go behind the camera as well as face it for ‘Ghayal Returns’, a sequel to the 1990 revenge action drama ‘Ghayal’. The film is likely to Earlier, it was reported that Rahul Rawail would direct the project.
But now a source close to the actor said:“Sunny will be directing Ghayal Returns”and it will not be the continuation of the old story, but the character of Amit Mehra (from the original) will be taken forward.”
The 57-year-old Sunny earlier said he has been trying to make the part two ever since the original came out.

The project is still in its scripting phase, the source said and added: “It`s too early to talk about the plot of the film.”

Sunny had directed the 1999 film ‘Dillagi’, which also starred his brother Bobby.

‘Ghayal’, which also starred Meenakshi Seshadri and Raj Babbar, was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Aamir Khan gets muscle spasm during ‘Dangal’

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was on Saturday injured on sets while shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Dangal’ in Ludhiana.

Sources from the production team told The Indian Express that the actor is suffering from muscle spasms in the back and thighs. Doctors advised Aamir to take two days bed rest before resuming work.

 

The sources also said that the muscle spasm was a result of intense workout schedule which Aamir Khan is following currently and practising wrestling for prolonged hours to complete the shoot.

 

Dangal is based on the life of Haryana-based wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and was being shot in villages Gujjarwal, Dango, Leel, Narangwal and Kila Raipur of Ludhiana. Some sequences have also been shot at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana.

 

His personal trainer Rahul Bhatt, son of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and known fitness trainer, is also accompanying Aamir in Ludhiana and working on his diet and workout schedule.

 

Alan McAlex, the executive producer of the film, said, “Aamir just got a muscle spasm while shooting but now he is doing absolutely fine. He is resting as of now and will resume shooting soon.”

 

A source from Team Aamir further said, “The actor complained of sudden intense pain in his thighs most probably due to the strain he is taking for practising the wrestling moves. The shoot in village Gujjarwal was cancelled for the day immediately and he was taken for a medical check up. However, everything is fine and it was not a major injury. The shoot will resume soon.”

Salman Khan’s Sultan has been creating a buzz, ever since it has been announced. Salman Khan is playing the role of Sultan Ali Khan, a 40-year-old wrestler from Haryana in his upcoming film Sultan. A lot of portions have been filmed without its lead female actor.

According to a report in Catch News, director Ali Abbas was quoted saying, “Major portions of Sultan will be shot without the female lead. We will announce the female lead of Sultan by January-end.”

The spokesperson for the film had also earlier said, “We have begun shooting for Sultan and Salman Khan is excited and actively involved with the film.The Lead actress for sultan movie Anushaka Sharma

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sultan will hit the screen on Eid 2016.
